Soot and creosote released along with smoke pose the greatest danger. Water vapor produced during wood combustion causes these substances to clump together and cool down and prevents them from fully burning. Because of their weight, these sticky tar particles cannot escape with the smoke and instead settle on the surfaces of heating appliances and chimney components, forming tar deposits. Even a small amount of such residue can interfere with the appliance’s proper operation, reduce efficiency, accelerate wear, promote corrosion, and potentially lead to a chimney fire.

HANSA CHIMNEY CLEANING POWDER is a soot combustion catalyst made from a blend of special crystals. Some components act catalytically on the wood combustion process – breaking down the tars in the wood into combustible gases. Others release gases at high temperatures that react with the existing tar deposits, breaking down their structure. This leads to the evaporation of water – the main element that gives the tar its adhesion and strength. What remains are brittle tar residues, which fall off, decompose thermally, and burn away.

HANSA CHIMNEY CLEANING POWDER is suitable for use in all types of solid fuel-burning heating appliances.

Instructions

Usage: For heating appliances with power up to 25 kW: during the first 10 firings, add 1 scoop of the cleaner before lighting the fire. For regular maintenance, add 1 scoop every 4th–5th firing, always before lighting. For appliances with power from 25 to 50 kW: during the first 10 firings, add 2 scoops before lighting. For maintenance, continue using 2 scoops every 4th–5th firing.

Important: Do not use the cleaner if there is insufficient draft or if smoke is entering the room. The product may be ineffective when burning damp wood. To ensure the effective operation of HANSA Resin Cleaner, the full chemical reaction of an actively burning fire must occur. Therefore, always place the entire packet into the heating appliance before lighting the fire. Do not throw the packet onto hot embers or a dying fire. The packets are ready to use – do not open, tear, cut, or otherwise damage them. Only undamaged packets should be used. Store in a dry place.
